Sixteen years at Dayanand Medical College & Hospital shaped Dr. Ashvind Bawa's craft — rising from Senior Resident to Professor of Surgery and Unit Head (2023–2026), and serving as Convener of the institution's Mentor–Mentee Program.

Today he leads surgical services at Bawa Hospital and heads its Hernia & Abdominal Wall Reconstruction Centre of Excellence — treating everything from primary inguinal hernias to multiply-recurrent, loss-of-domain reconstructions that few centres in the region attempt.

His training spans the world's best — fellowships in bariatric and metabolic surgery, advanced laparoscopic training at AIIMS New Delhi, induction as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (Chicago, 2015), an inspirational visit to the legendary Shouldice Hernia Hospital, Toronto, and 2025 ACS-scholar visits to the Cleveland Clinic AWR program and the Mayo Clinic — bringing the best of world surgery to Ludhiana and the region.
